very welcome to The Rubens official website.
We're a 4-piece rock-band based in Longford, Ireland, and
we write damn catchy 3-minute pop songs in the American college-rock/surf-rock
style-ee!
We're college boys like Blur and Weezer, and we all love
that West-Coast vibe… think Smashmouth and our all-time
favourites, Sublime, and you're getting close…
Put it simply we're the soundtrack to your best ever road-trip,
we're the band at your dorm party, we're on the stereo at
the beach or (as the Aussies say) at the bar-b and we're doing
it all the Irish way… a bit wild, but with a lot of soul
and way too much drinking, too many late nights and definitely
too many morning-afters!
We're not promising to re-invent the wheel, but we do pride
ourselves on making music that sounds genuinely fresh in a
world full of rip-offs and re-runs.
So if you think you're on, or near, our wavelength feel
free to have a wander around, the party's just starting!
